Bed bugs don’t mean a dirty house. They hitch a ride home from hotels, flights, used furniture, dorms and rideshares, and they can show up in the nicest homes in town. The hard part is that they hide well and breed fast, so it pays to act early.
Signs to look for
- Itchy bites, often in a line or cluster, that show up overnight
- Small rust-colored or dark spots on sheets, mattress seams and box springs
- Tiny shed skins or live bugs about the size of an apple seed along mattress seams and headboards
How we handle it
We start with an inspection to confirm it’s bed bugs and see how far they’ve spread. Then we treat the bedrooms and the furniture where they hide, and give you a short prep list before we come. Bed bugs almost never clear up in one visit, so we schedule a follow-up to check and treat again. We’ll be straight with you about what it takes.
Apartments, hotels and businesses
We also handle bed bugs for property managers and businesses across the greater Austin area. See commercial pest control.
Until we get there
Don’t move mattresses or furniture to other rooms, since that spreads them. Wash and dry bedding on high heat, and keep the bed pulled away from the wall.
